What UNIMAID Announced
The University of Maiduguri has approved Monday, 16 November 2026 as the resumption date for the 2026/2027 session. Newly admitted students will also start registration on that day.
Returning students will begin both registration and lectures on Monday, 30 November 2026.
According to the university, the dates were approved by the Senate at its 325th meeting on Thursday, 8 October 2026. The notice is addressed to staff, students and the wider university community.
What New Students Should Do
Fresh students resume on 16 November 2026 and begin registration the same day. If you have been offered admission, prepare ahead:
- Keep your admission letter and credentials ready.
- Confirm your fees and payment instructions on the official UNIMAID channels.
- Plan your travel and accommodation so you arrive on or before 16 November.
What Returning Students Should Do
Returning students start registration and lectures together on 30 November 2026, so there is no gap between registering and starting classes. Make sure your fees and course registration requirements are sorted before that date, and watch the university’s official notices for any further instructions.
Why the Two-Week Gap Matters
The session opens on 16 November, but returning students do not resume until 30 November. That two-week window gives new students time to settle in and complete registration before the full student body returns. Returning students should still avoid last-minute travel plans and keep track of official updates.
