If you are looking to elevate your expertise in applied mathematics, scientific computing, and data analysis, the European Union has a golden opportunity for you. The InterMaths Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) is currently accepting applications for its next cohort.
This prestigious program does not just offer a world-class education; it provides a fully funded pathway to study across multiple European universities while solving real-world industrial and biomedical challenges. Here is a breakdown of why this program should be at the top of your application list.
1. Study Across 5 Top European Universities
InterMaths is a 2-year program (worth over 120 ECTS credits) delivered by a consortium of five leading universities. As a student, your mobility path will take you to at least two different countries during your studies. The partner institutions include:
- University of L’Aquila (Italy) – The Coordinating Institution.
- Hamburg University of Technology (Germany).
- Vienna University of Technology (Austria).
- Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain).
- University of Côte d’Azur (France).
All students spend their first semester together at the University of L’Aquila, focusing on the Foundations of Applied Mathematics.
2. Generous Full Scholarship Funding
Funding your postgraduate studies doesn’t have to be a burden. By simply submitting your application before the deadline, you are automatically considered for an EMJM scholarship—no separate application is required.
For the 2026 edition, there are 20 scholarships available. If selected, you will receive a highly competitive stipend of 1,400 EUR per month. Notably, three of these scholarships are specifically reserved for students from targeted global regions, including Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
3. High Employability in Tech, Biology, and Industry
The InterMaths program is not just about theoretical math; it is deeply rooted in practical application and innovation. The curriculum is designed to train professional scientists equipped to translate challenging real-world problems into complex models.
During your thesis semester, you will have the chance to collaborate directly with private enterprises and “industrial partners”. This hands-on experience requires students to utilize and refine advanced skills in:
- Computer programming.
- Statistics and data analysis.
- Intelligent and logistic systems.
Whether you are interested in Biomedical Sciences or Industrial Engineering, the program provides targeted skills to tackle practical problems in these high-demand fields.
