The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has released its postgraduate admission list. If you applied and sat for the screening exercise, you can now find out whether you have been offered admission. This guide covers how to check your status and what to do next if your name is on the list.
How to Check the FUTA PG Admission List
Step 1: Visit the FUTA Postgraduate Portal
Open your browser and go to pgportal.futa.edu.ng.
Step 2: Click on “Admission List”
On the left-hand menu, under the Admissions section, you will see three options: Admission List, PG Prospectus and Academic Calendar. Click on Admission List.

Step 3: Fill in the Admission List Setup Page
You will be taken to the Admission List Setup Page, where you need to complete three fields:

- Select Programme: Choose the programme you applied for (e.g. PGD, M.Tech, M.Sc, Ph.D).
- Select Department: Choose the department you applied to.
- Select Batch: Choose the batch for the admission list. For the 2026/2027 academic session, select 2027.
Step 4: Click “Check List”
Once all three fields are filled, click the Check List button. The admission list for your programme and department will be displayed. Look for your name or application details.
Alternative Method: Check Through Student Login
If you would rather not search through the list, you can log in through the Student Login on the portal. If you are able to register on the portal, it means you have been offered admission.
What to Do After Seeing Your Name on the List
Congratulations! Admission is only confirmed once you complete the following steps:
- Log in through the Student Login on the postgraduate portal.
- Generate your invoice for the acceptance fee.
- Make payment for the acceptance fee.
- Verify your payment on the portal, using the Payments Verification option.
- Download your admission letter after your payment has been verified.
- Visit your department and the School of Postgraduate Studies to complete your screening and registration.
Useful Tips for Candidates
- Select the right batch. Choosing the wrong one is the most common reason candidates think their name is missing. For 2026/2027, the batch to select is 2027.
- Double-check your programme and department. The list only displays results for the options you select.
- Don’t delay your payments. Pay the acceptance fee and verify it promptly so you don’t miss any deadlines.
- Keep your documents ready. Carry your original credentials, your printed admission letter and your payment receipts when you go for screening and registration.
- Use only the official portal. Be careful of anyone who asks you to pay for “guaranteed admission” or “list placement.” FUTA admissions are done through the official portal only.
Final Word
Checking the FUTA postgraduate admission list is quick if you follow the steps above. If your name is on the list, complete your acceptance payment and registration on time to secure your place. If you don’t see your name yet, check again later and make sure you selected the right programme, department and batch.
Congratulations to all successful candidates, and best wishes to everyone on their postgraduate journey at FUTA! 🎓
