Congratulations on your admission to the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). Before you can register, you must secure your place by paying the acceptance fee. Here is what you need to know.
What Is the FUTA Acceptance Fee?
The acceptance fee tells the university you are taking up your offer. It applies to new 100L (UTME) and 200L Direct Entry students. It is separate from the schedule of charges (₦281,000 for fresh students). Check our FUTA school fees 2026/2027 breakdown for that.
How Much Is the FUTA Acceptance Fee?
Amounts is ₦50,000. But know that the only figure that counts is the one on your portal invoice.
Is the Acceptance Fee Refundable?
No. It is non-refundable, so be sure you intend to accept the offer before you pay.
FUTA Acceptance Fee Deadline
FUTA sets a deadline, and missing it can cost you your admission slot. Pay as early as you can rather than waiting for the last day.
How to Pay the FUTA Acceptance Fee
Payment is generally made through the Remita platform on the student portal, where a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) is generated.
- Accept your admission on JAMB CAPS first (UTME and DE candidates).
- Log in to the FUTA student portal with your JAMB registration number.
- Select the acceptance fee option and generate your invoice.
- Copy the RRR number.
- Pay online with a card or transfer, or at a bank using the RRR.
- Return to the portal and print your payment receipt.
- Keep the receipt safe. You will need it for registration and clearance.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Paying through an agent or into a personal account

- Losing your RRR or receipt
- Paying close to the deadline when the portal is slow
