Quick answer: Registration at FUTA runs in stages: accept your admission, pay your acceptance fee and school fees, complete screening and clearance, then do course registration on the portal.
Step 1: Accept Your Admission
Log in to JAMB CAPS and accept the offer. UTME and Direct Entry candidates must do this.
Step 2: Pay the Acceptance Fee
Generate your invoice on the FUTA portal and pay using your RRR. See our acceptance fee guide.
Step 3: Pay Your School Fees
Tuition is free, but fresh students pay compulsory charges. The published schedule lists ₦281,000 for fresh students (new 100L and 200L Direct Entry). Pay through the portal and print your receipt.
Step 4: Prepare Your Documents
Fresh students are typically asked for the following.
- JAMB admission letter and result slip
- O’level results (WAEC/NECO) and, for Direct Entry, A’level, ND or equivalent certificates
- Birth certificate or declaration of age
- State of origin / local government certificate
- Passport photographs
- Payment receipts (acceptance and school fees)
- Medical examination records
Bring originals and photocopies.
Step 5: Screening and Clearance
Attend the physical clearance exercise at the venue and date stated on the portal. Officials verify your documents and payments. Direct Entry students should expect closer checks of their previous qualifications.
Step 6: Biometrics, ID Card and Matric Number
After clearance you will complete data capture and receive your matriculation number. The schedule of charges includes an identity card valid for two sessions.
Step 7: Course Registration
Log in to the portal, select your courses for the semester, and print your course form. Register within the normal period to avoid late registration penalties.
Step 8: Orientation and Matriculation
Attend orientation, then the matriculation ceremony. See our matriculation guide.
Tips
- Pay only on the official portal
- Keep digital and printed copies of every receipt
- Treat any deadline in the portal notice as final
